by Spedden Shipbuilding of Baltimore

She was primarily used during the summer season in the Hudson River
Erie Canal & Great Lakes and would winter as far as the Gulf of Mexico
and South America
She boasts her original engine room and 2 story, engine
built in 1930 by RATHBUN JONES

This is categorized as a Direct reverse bell boat

The engine has 6 cylinders, it burns diesel fuel. It stands 2 stories
high and the engine alone weighs over 70 tons.
The pistons are 18" with a stroke of 28". Max RPM is 320
Our propeller is over 10 feet in diameter
We bunker 17,000 gals of fuel and burn 20 - 30 gal/hour light
Max speed is 16 Knots

She had been sunk in New Jersey, laid up for 10 years. All her brass had been stolen, the engine had been seized, and the interior had been destroyed.

In 1992, we purchased her for scrap value.

To date, her pilot house, galley, engineer's cabin and after-captain's cabin have all been brought to showable condition. Her engine is currently being rebuilt. Overall, the restoration is about 80% completed.
